Tajana Barbić is the new director of the Economic Institute, Zagreb (EIZ), and the decision on the appointment was made by the Institute’s Management Board at a meeting held on September 1 of this year. As announced on the Institute’s website, the new director’s term begins on September 9, 2020, and lasts for four years.
Tajana Barbić is a senior research associate at the Economic Institute, Zagreb, where she has been employed since 2004. Prior to her appointment as director, she served as the assistant director for finance. She obtained her PhD in 2010 from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb, and in 2013 she earned a Master of Science degree from the Kelley School of Business in the USA. Her scientific field of interest is finance, with specific areas of interest including financial management, capital markets, investment analysis, financial integration, and international finance, as stated in the announcement.
For the past four years, the director of EIZ has been Maruška Vizek, who was also the acting director nine months prior to her appointment.
