Bitcoin and Ether ETPs Listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange

Written by: FIMA Plus

The Vienna Stock Exchange, Wiener Börse, has become the third “officially regulated market” in the world to list bitcoin. The exchange has listed bitcoin and ethereum ETPs (Exchange-traded products) from issuer 21Shares AG, under the tickers ‘ABTC’ and ‘AETH’. ETP is a type of security that tracks the price of an asset, index, or financial instrument, which in this case is the price of cryptocurrency.

Thomas Rainer, Head of Development at Wiener Börse, emphasized that the listing allows experienced local investors and cryptocurrency traders access to all the benefits that the exchange can offer, including “monitored, regulated, and transparent trading with real-time information and secure settlement with their ongoing brokers. “

The Importance of Listing on the Vienna Stock Exchange

The CEO of 21Shares Hany Rashwan highlighted that the listing on the Vienna Stock Exchange means that bitcoin ETPs are now available for all three countries of the “DACH” region – Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

– We are happy to share that bitcoin is now available everywhere for both retail and institutional investors across the entire DACH region – said Rashwan.

On the other hand, the Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced that it will list price indices for bitcoin and ether in collaboration with the British crypto data company CryptoCompare.

Although the indices do not allow trading of cryptocurrencies, they can be useful for other Singaporean companies looking to launch products related to BTC or ETH and help them track cryptocurrency price fluctuations in real-time from a reliable source.

These, along with many other news items, point to the fact that the world is rapidly moving towards digitalization, and investors are increasingly adopting digital assets.
