The unique competition for student artists up to thirty years old 'Erste Fragments' is open for the sixteenth time. Applications are accepted until September 4, and exceptionally this year, the competition is thematically linked to the current situation, inviting all participants to submit works that undoubtedly fit the theme '2020 – crisis as an artistic stimulus and an opportunity to create a better society'. As before, the Grand Prix award, one annual scholarship, and the audience award on Facebook will be granted. This year, there is a new additional award for the best sculpture.

What the jury evaluates

In addition to the purchase, the author of the best work is eligible for an additional cash prize of ten thousand kuna and the opportunity for a solo exhibition organized by Erste Bank during 2021. The author of the best sculpture will also receive a prize of five thousand kuna, and the winner of the most votes from the audience on the Erste Bank Facebook page will receive a prize of three thousand kuna. Additionally, a one-year scholarship of one thousand kuna per month will be awarded. When considering candidates, the quality of the works, previous evaluations in their studies, motivation, and overall artistic potential are assessed based on discussions with representatives of the scholarship award committee.

All purchased and awarded works will be displayed at an exhibition in the Lauba gallery space in Zagreb at the end of September.
