Agency Brigada has won the BigSEE Interior Design Award for the spatial concept and design of the exhibition One Croatian Story. This exhibition showcases Adris Group’s twenty-year collaboration with the creative agency Bruketa&Žinić&Grey. Brigada shaped the exhibition’s setup by viewing the collaboration as a shared journey of the two companies, a voyage through a creative story that invites visitors to participate.
This shared journey, with exhibits as points of creative collaboration, is made through a series of intersecting circles that expand and contract, allowing visitors to pause in each circle and engage with the displayed ideas. Like positives and negatives, the circles gain a third dimension by rising in height, becoming a space for movement and retention.
The BigSEE awards encompass a wide range of design niches and recognize outstanding achievements realized in 19 countries of Southeast Europe, aiming to draw the attention of other economic sectors to the potentials offered by design. The organizer is Zavod Big from Ljubljana, which, among other things, has been organizing the Month of Design since 2003, an internationally significant festival of product and fashion design as well as interior design.
To date, Agency Brigada has won numerous domestic and international awards for exhibition design, such as the Red Dot and IDA Design Excellence Award, and has reached the finals of the prestigious World Architecture Festival 2018 in Amsterdam. They are currently preparing the exhibition Balthazargrad, which will open this autumn in Rijeka as part of the Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture project.
