In the pandemic, 185,000 jobs and 25,000 companies disappeared

At the end of July, Croatia had 151,433 unemployed individuals. Official sources will note that there was a decline in the previous two months, but in July, there was an increase of 782 unemployed compared to June. However, the situation is significantly more dramatic. A year ago, Croatia had a full 37,000 fewer unemployed – 114,389. We welcomed July with 1,512,452 employed individuals. And that is, believe it or not, 185,190 fewer employed than a year ago. Equally staggering is the fact that at the end of June, there were 133,315 active companies, which is even 25,377 fewer than a year ago. These are the true dimensions of the corona crisis that the authorities are trying to sweep under the rug.
