Farmers Received Support Worth 25 Million Kuna

The Agency for Payments in Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has sent new contracts to farmers across Croatia for measures from the Rural Development Program of the Republic of Croatia 2014 – 2020, totaling 191 contracts, with support worth almost 25 million kuna, the Ministry of Agriculture reported on Friday. For operation 6.3.1. "Support for the Development of Small Agricultural Holdings," 153 contracts were sent with a value exceeding 17 million kuna, with each farmer approved for 15 thousand euros in kuna equivalent.

As explained, these are farmers whose holdings have an economic size of 2,000 to 7,999 euros, who will use this money for investments in various activities on their family farms.

With the approved funds under this operation, the purchase of livestock, perennial crops, seeds and planting material, construction and equipping of facilities, purchase or lease of agricultural land, agricultural machinery, equipment, and the establishment of perennial plantations are financed, and facilities for the sale and presentation of their own agricultural products can also be built and equipped, the ministry’s statement notes.

It is noted that since the beginning of the implementation of the Rural Development Program of the Republic of Croatia, users have shown the greatest interest in this type of operation, with a total of 6,013 applications received. The initial allocation of 279 million kuna, intended for financing projects submitted to the competition, has thus been increased to 474.3 million kuna, which can finance 4,261 projects.

Additionally, the agency today sent 38 contracts to users of operation 19.2.1 "Implementation of Operations within the CLLD Strategy" (LEADER – M19) with a total value exceeding 7.7 million kuna.
