The company Fanon from Petrijanec near Varaždin is engaged in the production of animal feed and is currently one of the leaders in the region primarily due to its innovation and innovative products. These are not primary agricultural products such as grains and oilseeds that Croatia mostly exports, but rather premium products for farm animals, so-called specialties intended for our B2B and B2C customers. The products have been awarded in recent years, and it is worth mentioning the silver medal for innovation at the world’s largest agricultural fair, EuroTier in Hanover in 2018.
– Exports in 2019 were at a level of 38%, which is over 95,000,000.00 HRK in value of goods. In the first 6 months of this year, 722 truckloads of goods were exported to 11 EU countries, from Lithuania to Greece – say representatives from Fanon.

Considering that these are agricultural products that do not tolerate long transport, these figures are very satisfactory. With its own fleet consisting of ‘special’ trucks capable of combined deliveries (bulk and bags) and all necessary certificates for transporting animal feed that are required in the EU, they are the only passport to the demanding European market.
– At the very beginning of COVID, we had difficulties in transporting goods; however, through cascading deliveries, we managed to deliver with minimal delays to farms. We believe there is room for us here because the European agricultural market, in terms of thinking and functioning, is far ahead of ours, especially now during COVID when each country values its own production and food sector – say representatives from the company.
The paradox that has followed Croatian livestock production for years regarding self-sufficiency and strong import lobbies has forced Fanon to think beyond borders.
– With limited movements, it is difficult to maintain sales activities while fairs and various other events are canceled, so the Croatian Chamber of Economy and other institutions that ‘support’ exports should be sought for support – conclude representatives from Fanon.
We invite all entrepreneurs to contact us with information about the quantity of their trucks and trailers they are filling for export. Until now, tourists entering Croatia have been counted (to avoid misunderstanding, every tourist is worth their weight in gold), and Lider is starting to count trucks leaving our borders with goods for sale.
