Ferro-Preis d.o.o. is the successor of the factory previously known as the Čakovec Foundry, and since 1991, they have been operating within the Preis Group based in Austria.
– Our customers are leaders in various industrial sectors such as the production of industrial bearings, industrial pumps, electric motors and generators, agricultural machinery, railway vehicles, machine engineering, mining, etc., and we generate more than 96 percent of our revenue from exports, primarily to the Western European market – say the company.
Currently, Ferro-Preis employs around two hundred workers, who produce approximately 9,000 tons of castings annually and achieve an annual revenue of 17 million euros.

Like most of the metal processing industry, the corona crisis has also affected this Čakovec company, so in the second half of March, and especially during April, primarily due to lockdown in Italy and France and reduced production among customers from Germany and Austria, there was a decrease in sales and exports. However, with the gradual opening of the EU economy, deliveries to customers significantly increased, resulting in sales growth in the first half of 2020 compared to the same period last year.
– Thus, during May, June, and July, we achieved exceptionally good sales results, delivering an average of slightly more than 850 tons of products monthly, or 50 to 55 trucks of goods monthly – they say and add that their Western European partners are extremely satisfied, especially during this time of the corona crisis, as they have proven to be one of the most reliable suppliers.
