After the upheaval at the top of the main employers’ association, the procedure for electing a new president of the Croatian Employers’ Association has begun. Three candidates are competing, and who will lead HUP for the next three years should be known by September, writes Jutarnji list on Thursday.
The trio in the race for the first, but voluntary position in HUP consists of Marin Pucar, president of Podravka’s Management Board, Mihael Furjan, president of Pliva’s Management Board, and Renato Radić, co-owner and president of the Management Board of Prima furniture.
Mihael Furjan responds that he ran for the position at the request and support of numerous HUP members, and he believes he can contribute to establishing a "transparent framework for business operations, financial reporting, and standardization, thereby accelerating internal consultations and representative representation of the membership."
Marin Pucar has been leading Podravka since February 2017, having moved from Zvečevo. The company is owned by pension funds and the state, and Pucar was elected after heated discussions in which the Government also had an influence. Podravka boasts growth in revenue and profit in the first six months of this year, even during the pandemic.
Renato Radić is one of the founders of the furniture manufacturing company Prima. He has been an entrepreneur for 25 years and came to Bjelovar from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the early 90s.
HUP has about 6000 members and represents employers in the Economic-Social Council, reports Jutarnji list.
