Andrej Plenković
The Prime Minister will continue to be diplomat and lawyer Andrej Plenković, born on April 8, 1970, in Zagreb, married and father of two children. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, where he also obtained a master’s degree in international public and private law. In his career, among other things, he was a member of the European Parliament, a member of the Croatian Parliament, and state secretary for European integration (he led the campaign for the referendum on Croatia’s EU membership held in January 2012). Since 2016, he has been the president of the HDZ. He speaks English, French, Italian, and German. His hobby is basketball.
Four Deputy Prime Ministers
A new face in the Government will be SDSS’s Boris Milošević, as Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Human Rights, and he will be the only one who will not also be a minister, while the deputy prime ministers will also be ministers Davor Božinović, Tomo Medved, and Zdravko Marić. Along with Milošević, Marić is the only one who is not a member of the HDZ, but as an independent, he carried the HDZ list in the 5th electoral district during the parliamentary elections.
Boris Milošević
Milošević was born on November 5, 1974, in Šibenik, married. He graduated in law from the Faculty of Law in Rijeka. Among other things, he was a legal advisor in the Serbian National Council, assistant minister in the Ministry of Administration during the government of Prime Minister Zoran Milanović, as head of the Directorate for Political System, State Administration, and Local and Regional Self-Government, and he was also a member of the Parliament for the SDSS.
Tomo Medved
Tomo Medved will continue to be the Minister of Croatian Veterans. He was born on March 17, 1968, in Cetingrad, married and father of three children. He is a retired brigadier general of the Croatian Armed Forces, wounded three times in the Homeland War, and is a 50% Croatian war veteran. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and has completed the Ban Josip Jelačić War School, specializing in strategic and operational planning.
Davor Božinović
Davor Božinović continues to serve as the Minister of the Interior. He was born on December 27, 1961, in Pula, married and father of two children. He graduated and obtained a doctorate from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb in the field of international relations and national security. In his rich political career, he has been, among other things, a member of Parliament, state secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassador, and head of the Office of President Stjepan Mesić.
Zdravko Marić
Zdravko Marić continues to lead the Ministry of Finance. He was born on February 3, 1977, in Slavonski Brod, married and father of two children. He graduated and obtained a doctorate from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, and most of his working life has been associated with the Ministry of Finance, and he was also an executive director at the former Agrokor. His hobbies are tennis, running, and basketball.
Two New Ministers
Nikolina Brnjac
A new face in the Government is Nikolina Brnjac, who will head the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. She was born on July 11, 1978, in Karlovac, and obtained a doctorate in Traffic and Transport Technology from the Faculty of Transport Sciences in Zagreb. She comes to the ministerial position from the position of state secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and previously she was also a state secretary for transport in the Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure. Her areas of interest include, among other things, intermodal transport systems, and she is the author of more than 50 scientific papers and professional articles in the field of intermodal transport and logistics in national and international journals. Her hobbies are running and swimming.
Nataša Tramišak
The new minister is also Nataša Tramišak, who will lead the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds. She was born on May 6, 1982, and graduated in law from the Faculty of Law in Osijek. She comes to the ministerial position from the position of head of the County Administrative Department for Investments, Development Projects, and EU Funds, which, among other things, prepares, implements, and monitors projects and measures in the field of energy and energy efficiency, development projects, and programs for the development of the County co-financed from EU funds and other international and national funds as well as state bodies. Among other things, she is an expert in strategic planning, project management in rural development, and public procurement.
Radovan Fuchs
Radovan Fuchs returns to the Government Office, having previously served as Minister of Science, Education, and Sports in the government of Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor. He will now be the Minister of Science and Education. He was born on September 5, 1953, in Zagreb, married and has two sons. He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zagreb, obtained a master’s degree from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in the field of biomedical sciences, and earned a doctorate in toxicology and pharmacology at the Biomedical Center of Uppsala University. From April 2018 to April 2019, he was a special advisor to Plenković’s Government for coordinating the work of the Expert Working Group (ERS) for the implementation of the curricular reform.
