Algebra University, the first private technical university in Croatia, under the mentorship of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) of the University of Zagreb, will begin its Computer Science program in English this autumn. It will be jointly conducted by teachers from Zagreb’s FER and Algebra College.
Solution for Establishment
Preparations for the establishment of Algebra University began three years ago. During this time, elections for additional lecturers and professors were held, contracts were signed with additional experts, a report for the establishment of the institution and three undergraduate university studies were prepared, an agreement was established on the legally required mentoring implementation of the studies during the transitional period, and successful supervision was completed by foreign experts appointed by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.
After three years, a positive accreditation recommendation was issued last week and sent to the Ministry of Science and Education, which issued a decision on the establishment of the legal entity Algebra University, thus creating the foundation for the commencement of operations and enrollment of the first generation of students at the first private university in the field of technical sciences in Croatia.
