Šestan-Busch, a world-renowned manufacturer of ballistic protective helmets from Prelog, secured a new contract at the beginning of the year for the production of 30,000 helmets for the Czech army. However, in addition to the defense sector, there has been a shift towards the civil protection market in the last three years.

– We are currently finalizing a project for a multifunctional protective helmet for the civil protection of the Republic of Croatia, which is co-financed by ESI funds. However, what might interest all citizens is the project for the production of a mask that protects against the coronavirus – said Goran Basarac, Executive Director for Strategic Development and Project Implementation at Šestan-Busch.

According to him, the pandemic has accelerated the project for the production of protective masks, which they plan to present to civil protection in September. This is a mask that would protect against the coronavirus as well as all other biological threats.

– Such a mask does not currently exist, so people are trying to protect themselves with disposable surgical masks or cloth masks, which do not provide adequate protection. Our mask will be appropriate protection for citizens against the coronavirus, and it could be available on the market by the end of the year – Basarac stated exclusively for Lider.
