The Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) has launched a portal for online payment of tourist fees in nautical tourism, which until now could only be paid at port captaincies and their branches, HTZ reported on Friday.
The portal is nautika.evisitor.hr, which offers instructions to sailors on how to pay this fee in multiple languages, guiding them through the process of registering and paying the tourist fee in a simple and clear manner. In addition to Croatian, it is available in English, German, and Italian, and the portal supports payments via all the most recognized global card brands.
– After making the payment of the tourist fee, the sailor receives a confirmation to their email address, which they must keep throughout their stay on the vessel, HTZ advises.
HTZ Director Kristjan Staničić emphasized the importance of nautical tourism as one of the most significant Croatian tourist products, for which demand is particularly pronounced in these market conditions with the coronavirus pandemic.
– Data on the number of sold confirmations, or stickers in nautical tourism, show that more than 7,000 have been sold from the beginning of this year until July 15, which is 53 percent of the results achieved in the previous record year. We are also recording good results in the nautical charter segment, where, according to data from the eCrew system, nearly 200,000 overnight stays have been achieved in the first part of July, or about 57 percent of last year’s result – states Staničić.
