Zagreb County announced a Public Call on Tuesday for the employment of 162 teaching assistants and one professional communication mediator to work with 180 students with developmental difficulties in its primary and secondary schools, which are also partners in the project. The Public Call is part of the ‘Support Ring’ project. Applications are submitted to the schools and are open until August 13 of this year.
Teaching assistants will be employed in 28 primary and 8 secondary schools founded by Zagreb County on a part-time basis, with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 35 hours per week.
The recruitment process is conducted by the schools, which publish the Call for Employment of Teaching Assistants on their websites and carry out the selection of candidates. A list of project partner schools and the Public Call is available on the County’s website.
The ‘Support Ring’ project in Zagreb County is being implemented for the sixth consecutive year and enables students with developmental difficulties to participate in all educational activities, both in regular classes and extracurricular activities, with the support of assistants, and to develop according to their capabilities. The project is funded by the European Social Fund, and Zagreb County has been granted a non-repayable amount of 10 million kuna for its implementation from 2017 to 2021, while the remaining funds amounting to 8.8 million kuna were secured from the county budget.
In the previous school year, 138 teaching assistants were involved in the project to work with 156 students in 36 primary and secondary schools founded by Zagreb County.
