After Rijeka, Osijek, and Zadar, the Lider Invest project, which rewards the best small, medium, and large manufacturing investments in Croatia, is taking place today at the Technology and Innovation Center Međimurje. As before, the goal of Lider Invest is to discover and reward entrepreneurs who invest in production for export and commodity production and to encourage the industry as a whole.
On a global level, investments are expected to decline by 40 percent, and Croatia must account for this. Domestic entrepreneurs who have products and are export-oriented will be the largest investors in the upcoming period, it was stated at the opening in Čakovec.
Josip Grivec, Deputy Prefect of Međimurje County, stated that Međimurje excels in many areas, including entrepreneurship.
– Encouraging the economy and entrepreneurship is extremely important, especially now in these unusual times. Regarding the economy, we are aware that there will be consequences related to the corona crisis. We immediately made a budget rebalancing to support entrepreneurs in overcoming this crisis, which will still last. We are aware that the main levers are at the state level, but Međimurje County is doing everything possible to facilitate the continuation of business for our entrepreneurs, Grivec told the attendees.
Following the invest, a panel titled 'Creating a Positive Investment Environment and Financing Investments in Northern Croatia' is expected, featuring Miljenko Štefanić, Head of the Unified Administrative Department of the City of Mursko Središće, Sandra Polanec Marinović, Director of the Public Institution for the Development of Međimurje County, and Đuro Horvat, General Director of Tehnix.
