ZAGREB – Under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Government of the Republic of Croatia will be held. ZAGREB – The president of HSLS, Dario Hrebak, and the president of the People’s Party – Reformists, Radimir Čačić, will hold a press conference to report on the formation of a liberal club in the Croatian Parliament (10:30 AM, in front of the Croatian Parliament, Trg sv. Marka 6).

ZAGREB – A ceremony will be held to award contracts for the allocation of funds from the Croatian Science Foundation based on the competition for Managing Infectious Diseases Caused by Coronaviruses and the Social and Educational Aspects of the Pandemic (10 AM, National and University Library, Ulica Hrvatske bratske zajednice 4). This is a competition worth 14 million kuna announced on March 30 for financing research that creates new and improves existing knowledge about infectious diseases caused by coronaviruses and the social aspects of the pandemic. Among 96 projects, funding has been approved for 11, which received high ratings from international reviewers. The ceremony will also be attended by the Minister of Science and Education, Blaženka Divjak, and the president of the Management Board of the Croatian Science Foundation, academician Dario Vretenar. ZAGREB – As part of the Tesla & Frieds event, the annual “Nikola Tesla” Award will be presented, and the 164th birthday of Nikola Tesla will be celebrated. Welcome speeches will be given by, among others, the president of the Nikola Tesla Association – Genius for the Future, Dragica Mihajlović, the president of the Croatian Innovators Association, Ivan Bračić, Prof. Dr. Sc. Dragan Primorac, director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, David Matthew Smith, and the vice-rector for innovation, technology transfer, and communication at the University of Zagreb, Miljenko Šimpraga (7:30 PM, Hotel Esplanade).

BRUXELLES – The Eurogroup meeting and the Council for Finance and Economy, where the admission of Croatia and Bulgaria to the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II), a sort of waiting room for entry into the eurozone, is expected.
