The civic initiative Psychological Spring has requested political parties and coalitions to express their stance on whether they will implement the necessary reforms of the Croatian chamber system in the next term of the Parliament and Government if they are part of the legislative and executive power.
They asked whether they commit to urgently adopting a law on chambers that will regulate the establishment and financing of chambers, the manner of performing public authorities, the democratic election of officials, etc., in a uniform and binding way for all chambers, while the second part of the question relates to the abolition of mandatory membership in chambers or at least, under legally prescribed conditions, the free establishment and competition of multiple chambers within one activity.
Only three political options responded: the coalition Party with a Name and Surname, Smart and Focus, the Bridge of Independent Lists, and the Homeland Movement. The Bridge responded positively to both questions and commits to preparing and proposing laws and legal amendments and supports Psychological Spring, led by Domagoj Švegar, in the fight for the reform of the Croatian chamber system. The coalition of the Party with a Name and Surname, Smart, and Focus agrees with the demands, emphasizing that some of its members have been advocating for years for the abolition of mandatory membership and the liberalization of the entire chamber system, as well as the Homeland Movement, which will support the stated demands in the Parliament.
