Today in Croatia: 29th Anniversary of Armed Resistance in Glina, Parties and Coalitions in Pre-Election Activities…

ZAGREB –  The ceremonial promotion of students from the military schools of the Croatian Military Academy "Dr. Franjo Tuđman (Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Training, Basic Officer Training and Pilot Training, Command-Staff School “Blago Zadro” and War School “Ban Josip Jelačić”) for the needs of the Croatian Army (9:30 AM, HVU „Dr. Franjo Tuđman, Ilica 256b). The ceremony will also be attended by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović, who will address the attendees. At the promotion, diplomas will be awarded to 177 students of the military schools of HVU „Dr. Franjo Tuđman“. Media representatives should arrive no later than 9 AM.

DARUVAR – Ceremony for the signing of the charter and laying of the cornerstone for the start of construction of the veterans’ center in Daruvar (3:30 PM, Ulica Podborje). The charter will be signed by the Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved and the Mayor of Daruvar Damir Lneniček, while the cornerstone will be laid by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. The ceremony will also be attended by the President of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković and representatives of veterans’ associations and cooperatives from the Bjelovar-Bilogora County. The program includes appropriate addresses.

GLINA – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović and Sisak-Moslavina County Prefect Ivo Žinić will attend the ceremonial marking of the 29th anniversary of the beginning of armed resistance against the Serbian aggressor in the Glina area. The ceremonial marking begins at 8:30 AM with the laying of wreaths at the grave of fallen Croatian police officer Tomislav Roma (local cemetery Gornji Viduševac) and lighting candles at the monument to the first Croatian president Dr. Franjo Tuđman (9 AM, Trg dr. Franje Tuđmana) and a mass celebration at the Church of St. John Nepomuk (9:45 AM). This will be followed by a procession and a ceremonial program at the monument "Tears".  The ceremony concludes with a special program "Safety and Trust – Your Police" (12:05 PM, city park in Glina).

OSIJEK – Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli will sign a contract for the allocation of non-repayable funds for the Regional Competence Center in Hospitality and Tourism in Osijek. Statements are planned after the completion of the ceremonial signing (9:30 AM, headquarters of the Osijek-Baranja County, Županijska ulica 4).

KOPRIVNICA/BJELOVAR/SISAK/VELIKA GORICA – HDZ President Andrej Plenković, together with candidates from the HDZ list for the 2nd electoral district, will visit Koprivnica and Bjelovar where he will socialize with members (12:30 PM, pub "Kraluš", Zrinski trg 10/Pavilion, Trg Eugena Kvaternika 5). After that, Plenković will visit Sisak together with candidates from the HDZ list for the 6th electoral district where he will socialize with members (6 PM, cafe bar "Zlatne Godine", Rimska ulica 9a). HDZ President Plenković will also participate in the presentation of candidates from the HDZ list for the 6th electoral district in Velika Gorica (park dr. Franje Tuđmana, Ul. Slavka Kolara 13D).

ZAGREB – Presentation of the SDP program for culture and creative industries (11:30 AM, SDP headquarters, Iblerov trg 9). The program will be presented by the president of the SDP Council "Forward Croatia – club for human rights, democracy and social development" Ivo Josipović, Vice President of GLAS and candidate in the 6th electoral district Goran Beus Richembergh and the president of the SDP Council for culture Morana Foretić. The presentation can also be followed on the official facebook page and Youtube channel of the SDP. 

ZAGREB – Member of the HDZ Central Committee and HDZ candidate in the 4th electoral district Marko Pavić, member of the HDZ Central Committee and HDZ candidate in the 9th electoral district Branka Juričev Martinčev, and the president of the HDZ Committee for Labor and Pension System and HDZ candidate in the 7th electoral district Majda Burić will hold a conference on the topic „Effective State and Balanced Development" (11 AM, HDZ headquarters, Trg žrtava fašizma 4).

VARAŽDIN – SDP President Davor Bernardić will socialize with citizens in Varaždin together with candidates from the Restart coalition list for the III. Electoral District (4:15 PM, Stančićev trg). Statements for the media are planned at 4:15 PM.

ZAGREB – Press conference of the Labor and Solidarity Party on the topic: "Electoral Law and Law on Electoral Districts" (10 AM, Zagreb Fountains, Ulica Hrvatske bratske zajednice). The president of the Labor and Solidarity Party and the lead candidate in the II. Electoral District Milan Bandić, Vice President of the Labor and Solidarity Party and candidate on the list in the I. Electoral District Jelena Pavičić Vukičević and General Jozo Miličević, candidate on the list in the II. Electoral District will speak.

SPLIT – Press conference of the Split SDP at which candidates from the Restart coalition for the 10th electoral district Arsen Bauk, Branko Grčić, Goran Kotur and Eleonora Mandić will speak on the topic "The Collapse of HDZ’s ‘Security’" (10:30 AM, Šetalište Bačvice 10).

ZAGREB – Presentation of the Electoral Program of the Croatian People’s Party – liberal democrats "Croatia Loves Work" (10:30 AM, Hotel The Westin Zagreb, Kršnjavoga 1). The program will be presented by the president of the HNS and lead candidate of the HNS in the III. electoral district Predrag Štromar, Minister of Science and Education and independent candidate on the HNS list in the III. electoral district Blaženka Divjak and lead candidate of the HNS in the IV. electoral district Ivan Vrdoljak.

ZAGREB – Press conference of the coalition of the Democratic Party and the Croatian Laborists on the topic: "Goodbye Minister Divjak" (10:10 AM, Ministry of Science and Education, (in front of the entrance), Donje Svetice 38).  Renato Petek, independent representative in the Zagreb City Assembly, Bojana Hribljan, Vice President of the Democratic Party and Mirando Mrsić, president of the Democrats will speak.

SPLIT – Press conference of the coalition of the Party with a Name and Surname, Smart and Focus. Boro Nogalo will speak about how to reduce waiting lists, why the X. electoral district needs another hospital and how it can be built with the help of EU funds (9:30 AM, at the bottom of Marmontova street – Riva). In addition to him, Marijana Puljak and Ante Pranić will also speak at the conference about the situation with health centers in that district and will present their proposal for solutions to health problems in Dalmatia and Croatia.

ŠIBENIK – Anton Dobra will present candidates from the list "365 Labor and Solidarity Party" for the 9th electoral district in front of the City Hall (11 AM, in front of the City Hall, Trg Republike Hrvatske).
