Many have heard at some point in their lives that crude joke about a couple convincing a doctor that they have done everything, but they simply cannot conceive, to which the doctor incredulously asks them: 'Guys, are you kidding me?'. This is somewhat how the recent noticeable increase in the number of new coronavirus infections can be described, which Krunoslav Capak, the Headquarters, and all Croatian experts simply cannot comprehend, even though the borders have long been open, and people are warmly invited to come to Croatia, moreover, in as large numbers as possible.
The increase in the number of infections has definitely confirmed that there will be no eradication of the virus and that this fact must be adapted to, but once the genie is out of the bottle, it is hard to put it back in. Panic and fear created over months cannot be overnight replaced with the reverse mantra 'living with corona', that is, you cannot just convince frightened people to simply accept corona as an inevitable fact with which they need to live for some time longer. In such a situation, the key question becomes how much the economy can truly function in parallel with the coronavirus and the constant threat of new problems. The initial optimism after life was allowed to return to operation is slowly evaporating, and alongside it, uncertainty is rising, a well-known killer of relevant economic activity.
