On Monday afternoon, the teletext of public television was inundated with Andrej Plenković, who was the main character in the first six news stories from Croatia. There were even three follow-ups from his appearance on 'Nedjeljom u 2', two condemnations of the anti-Serbian outburst in Kustošija, an explanation of Beroš’s statement that it is better for children to be in homes than with same-sex couples, and news about a visit to the 'Dr. Fran Mihaljević' clinic and a photo with director Alemka Markotić. And that’s not all!
The sevenfold package of Plenković’s private teletext was rounded off with the news that he participated in the opening of a symposium of the association of persons with physical disabilities.
This is a true example of public-private partnership in the Croatian way, and everything became clear on the same day it was announced that the editor-in-chief of HTV Bruno Kovačević criticized Aleksandar Stanković at the Programming Council for being too harsh on Plenković. So now the teletext was trying to find 'balance'. And that’s not all!
On Tuesday, HRT had to send a team to the feet of the head of HDZ and the Government. The explanation: Davor Bernardić refused to debate Plenković in a special program that was supposed to last 90 minutes, and in that case, the other candidate has the right to an interview. So he got it, but not in the canceled program, nor in Teme dana, but in a more viewed time slot – a full 16 minutes live from Banski dvori in the first part of TV Dnevnik. The questions to Plenković this time were 'more measured', just as appropriate for an action of throwing ashes.
