Pavao Vujnovac, owner of the First Gas Company, has exited the ownership structure of Marinada. His stake was purchased by Denis Matijević, who is, through his company Agrofructus, the majority owner of Marinada, which has 62 other co-owners.
The reason Vujnovac sold his stake lies in the fact, explains Matijević, that his company Marinada and Vujnovac’s Enna Agro established a new company Enna Fruit, which has taken over the business that Marinada previously conducted.
To avoid Vujnovac being involved in the ownership of the newly established company through both Enna Agro and Marinada, they decided that Matijević would buy him out. This has created a new partnership in Croatian agriculture, and Vujnovac, who entered the grain and oilseed trading business two years ago through his aforementioned company, has now expanded his business to fruits and vegetables.
– The Croatian market for fruits and vegetables is relatively small, and its consolidation is strategically important for both agricultural producers and buyers. Through this connection and the synergy that arises from it, Enna Fruit is taking a leading position in the organization of production, procurement, distribution, and processing of fruits and vegetables in Croatia and the region – states Matijević.
