Another great success comes from JGL. The Rijeka pharmaceutical company has recently sold the 200 millionth product of one of the most successful Croatian export brands – Aqua Maris. Aqua Maris products based on Adriatic seawater have been on the market since 1999, and it is a line of completely natural products that includes 12 different products intended for hygiene, prevention, and treatment of upper respiratory tract diseases.

Just last year, JGL sold over 15 million Aqua Maris products, of which as much as 98 percent were in foreign markets. The best results come from the company’s key markets – in Croatia and Kazakhstan, Aqua Maris holds a leading market position, with 47 and 54 percent market share, respectively. In Russia and Ukraine, the brand holds the second position with 26 percent market share each, and recently, Belarusian consumers positioned it as the number 1 natural product for nasal hygiene.

“We are very pleased with the successes of our leading brand. In addition to the fact that it is 100 percent our own production, certified according to European regulations, which ensures quality, sustainability, and security of market supply, I believe that the secret of Aqua Maris’s success lies with the employees of JGL who continuously work on improving products and sales. In the technological part of research and development, in collaboration with packaging manufacturers, we constantly improve existing systems with the desire to make application as simple and healthy as possible for customers. Also, in collaboration with the scientific community, especially during the recent pandemic, we affirm the benefits of regular use of Aqua Maris products for moisturizing the nose and nasal cavity. Our new slogan „Wash your hands, wash your nose“ reminds us that hygiene is crucial to defend and protect ourselves from viruses that are always seasonally present, as well as from numerous impurities in the air“, emphasizes JGL’s CEO, Mislav Vučić.

Aqua Maris is now present in more than 20 countries worldwide, and during 2019, it achieved net sales of 260 million kuna, which is an increase of 16 percent compared to the previous year. The largest absolute sales growth, compared to the previous year, was achieved in the Russian market, where sales grew by 17 percent.
