Although the school year that is just coming to an end has been challenging for both students and pupils, and they will face the challenges of graduation and enrollment in colleges until the very end, efforts were made to maintain at least the appearance of normalcy. Thus, the Senate of the University of Zagreb, at its seventh regular session in the 351st academic year (2019/2020), adopted the Decision on enrollment quotas for the admission of students to the first year of undergraduate and integrated undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Zagreb for the academic year 2020/2021.
The same story for years
The announcement for student enrollment at the University of Zagreb was published on May 26, 2020, and according to it, 14,187 places have been determined for enrollment in the next academic year, which is slightly more compared to last year. Although there are more places for enrollment this year as well, the University of Zagreb has not been able to fill the prescribed enrollment quotas for several years, resulting in about 3,000 vacant places at faculties last year, which can also be attributed to the fact that the number of applicants for graduation decreases every year. The faculties with the largest numerical quotas have been the same for years, namely the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. Last year, the Faculty of Law could enroll 1,173 students, and this number has remained the same for this academic year. The same story applies to the Faculty of Philosophy, where there are 1,111 vacant places for students.
