The international health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has not only burdened the healthcare system but will also significantly impact the economic and financial apparatus. Innovations that can help will therefore be more valued. Former and current students of the University of Zagreb Samuel Bosch, Ana Krakan, and Kaja Pavlinić have decided to contribute to the fight against youth unemployment and create new jobs.
Samuel Bosch is a former physics student at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Zagreb, currently a research fellow at Harvard University, and soon starting his PhD at MIT. Ana Krakan is a law student at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, while Kaja Pavlinić is completing her studies in software engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. Together with the rest of the international team, which includes Alexander Sanchez, Imran Kambal, and Tomislav Đapić, they are working on developing a startup called Assist-o.
Spectrum of Services
– Assist-o is a platform through which we want to bring personal assistant services closer to everyone, whether it is a busy student who works and manages their own projects alongside their studies or a director of a large company. Our main goal is to break the stereotypes that personal assistants are only for the wealthiest. All our personal assistants are located in Croatia or the rest of the European Union, are highly educated, and undergo a strict selection process and initial training. From the total number of applicants for this position, we select only one percent of the best. An additional advantage of our platform is that clients do not have to hire personal assistants full-time; they can choose the number of hours they need, so our personal assistants are available from as little as fifteen hours a month. Another unique feature of our platform is that personal assistants have a business support unit behind them, which includes development engineers, designers and other specialists, meaning our clients receive a much broader range of services compared to traditional personal assistants – said Kaja Pavlinić.
