cargo-partner Strengthens Positions with New Benelux Locations

With the newly opened office at Liège Airport, cargo-partner strengthens its presence in air traffic, particularly because Liège (LGG) is an important air traffic hub in Belgium. In a recent period of limited traffic when urgent customer-friendly solutions were sought, Liège Airport confirmed a significant increase in cargo volume, while other European air hubs stagnated. Numerous companies from the pharmaceutical and automotive industries that have relocated to the region have benefited precisely due to the favorable geographical and economic situation. A large portion of carriers at Liège Airport has developed a significant e-commerce hub. Thus, with the increase in the volume of shipments through the LGG hub, the decision was made to establish a new branch, which commenced operations in April.

An hour’s drive away, cargo-partner opened a new office and warehouse headquarters in Roermond, Netherlands, at the beginning of May. The convenience of transport connectivity in southeastern Netherlands, located at the borders with Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany, was crucial for the site selection. Three capitals along with the German urban region of Rhine-Ruhr, with 10 million inhabitants, are located within 250 kilometers of the logistics center. It should also be noted that 60% of the purchasing power of the European Union is within a radius of 500 km, along with the most important airports in the region.

The office in Roermond is intended for processing numerous domestic and international land shipments, and the new warehouse is designed as a consolidation center for regional logistics operations. The first regular truck routes between Western and Southern and Northeastern Europe began operations on May 11. Particularly significant advantages are cargo-partner’s solutions for combined road and rail transport to/from China, along with dense transport hubs across Europe.

The new warehouse has a total of 7,000 m² of storage space, and cross-docking with eight truck docks. The site is under constant video surveillance, equipped with state-of-the-art fire safety equipment and a CO₂ gas extinguishing system. Storage of hazardous goods is planned in IBC containers, rolls, and on pallets. The location is suitable for storing hazardous goods of classes 2.3, 4.1, 6.1, 8, and 9.
