On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, the POSTCORONA Economic Forum was held in the premises of the Entrepreneurial Incubator (PUNK) in Kutina, focusing on current topics in the field of economy. Alongside the Mayor of the City of Kutina, Zlatko Babić, businesspeople and entrepreneurs from the Kutina area also participated.
The City of Kutina emphasizes that from the very beginning of the corona crisis, they have been in daily communication with businesspeople and that they wanted to encourage dialogue on economic renewal at the Forum, specifically regarding the situation in the city during and after the corona crisis, how the City can assist in the recovery of the economy, and what potentials and opportunities exist for further economic growth.
Ivan Brkić, director of Selk d.d., points out that they are currently facing obstacles but hope for normalization of business operations as soon as possible. „Almos and Selk, like many companies in Croatia, are in similar situations. I am glad that the City is investing in business zones to stimulate the economy, and I still expect the City to do everything in its power because the progress of the entire society rests on the economy“ said Mr. Brkić.
In addition to dialogue with entrepreneurs, Mayor Zlatko Babić presented the strategic project of the City of Kutina – KIND – Kutina Industrial Logistic Zone, which aims to achieve economic renewal of the city and region. KIND, or the Industrial-Logistics Zone, is located in close proximity to the A3 Zagreb-Lipovac highway and is connected to Hungary via the state road D45 through Virovitica. On 74 hectares in the form of 7 plots, larger production and business facilities can be developed. This Zone is entirely owned by the City of Kutina and is in accordance with the GUP and PP. With a stimulative low land price, exemption from paying utility fees (100% of the calculated ratio), and exemption from paying utility contributions at a rate of 100% for a period of up to 5 years, the Zone has ensured communal and energy infrastructure and is ready for new projects and investors, which would open a range of new jobs.
