The family company Vuplast-Plastika from Čakovec has been engaged in the production of plastic products for 30 years, and during the corona crisis they designed and patented a new product aimed at protecting individuals who come into contact with contaminated textiles. These are soluble bags for washing contaminated clothing, the quality and value of which have been recognized by European countries such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. A distribution agreement for the bags for washing contaminated clothing has recently been signed with these countries until 2023.
This company is the only manufacturer of soluble bags in the EU.
– The specific purpose of the bag is to assist in combating and spreading the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as other infectious diseases, and to prevent environmental contamination and protect all individuals who come into contact with contaminated textiles – the company stated on their Facebook profile.

They explained that completely or potentially contaminated textiles are placed in the bag, which is then closed with a plastic PVC tie. The secured bag is transported to the laundry where the entire bag is placed in the washing machine or washing tunnel. During the washing cycle, the bag completely dissolves at the bottom and releases the contents of the bag into the washing machine. After the washing cycle is completed, the bag is disposed of in a special bag of a different color. It is also worth mentioning that the bags are made from 100% recycled plastic, and the printing color does not adhere to the textile.
