During the last few months, we have learned a lot. Primarily, the physical presence of employees in offices is not a guarantee of success. Although our employees have worked from home before, we have now felt an increase in productivity since we implemented full remote work in our four offices in Croatia. However, although video conferences and meetings have proven to be a very good alternative, there is a noticeable lack of socialization and physical presence among teams. This was confirmed by our employees in an internal survey. Our employees have been working from home for the fifteenth consecutive week, and the company has decided that we will all work from home in Croatia at least until the beginning of September.

Of course, we have enabled employees who have a necessary need to work from our offices, and we will also facilitate team meetings for brainstorming and collaboration while adhering to all necessary precautions. For all employees working from home, we have made available, as before, all the necessary office equipment to ensure optimal working conditions. In the coming period, we will continue to bring in top experts for key positions who can help us in further growth, characterized by openness, a tendency for teamwork, and innovation, and who have ‘challenger mindset’ for the future.

We are intensively moving towards automation and digitalization in all segments of business, both internally and externally. We are developing stronger towards new products that enable our clients to do just that. The future has started to accelerate due to all these circumstances. The need and demand for our tools have increased, and we are working on expanding our product portfolio. This is just the beginning of a large space ahead of Infobip that we have entered.

Looking ahead, it is certain that we will not have fixed workstations in some parts of the office. Part of the office will be roaming, meaning employees will be able to sit anywhere within their departments. Roaming will ensure physical distance in enclosed spaces. Those who wish to work from home will be able to do so, as generally, more work can be done from home than before. A lot of time is wasted on commuting to and from work, especially in large global cities, which generally undermines the quality of life for employees. It has also been shown that there is not as much need for business travel as before, and that time can be much better utilized in the future.

The very emergence of the coronavirus is negative from a health and economic perspective, but in terms of technology it has brought accelerated development. There will be a complete digital revolution and many innovative digital technologies, and for some of them, we have a good foundation in our products at Infobip. Generally speaking, some industries will experience enormous growth, while others will have to adapt, which is already happening.
