Today in Croatia: Day of the Croatian Army, Government and Union Meeting…

ZAGREB – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković will participate in the ceremonial marking of the Day of the Croatian Army, the Day of the Croatian Ground Army, and the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Croatian Army at the Croatian Military Academy "Dr. Franjo Tuđman", where he will open the accommodation facility "Vukovar", participate in the central ceremony, and tour the sports fields. The "Vukovar" facility consists of 15 floors with a total of 89 accommodation units and is intended for the accommodation needs of students of the Croatian Military Academy "Dr. Franjo Tuđman". The ceremony will include a speech by the Prime Minister, and alongside Plenković will be the Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved (12:00, Croatian Military Academy "Dr. Franjo Tuđman", Ilica 256b).

ZAGREB – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković will receive representatives of the Knights’ Alkar Society of Sinj, led by the Society’s president Stipe Jukić.  Alongside Prime Minister Plenković will be the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Darko Horvat and the Minister of Culture Nina Obuljen Koržinek (9:30, Banski dvori, Trg sv. ZAGREB – Negotiations continue between the negotiating committee of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and representatives of the unions regarding the conclusion of supplements to collective and basic collective agreements with representatives of public and state services (8:30, Ministry of Labour and Pension System, Ulica Grada Vukovara 78). The negotiations will be held through three separate meetings – with representatives of public service unions; with representatives of science and higher education unions, teachers, and employees in secondary schools, and with representatives of state services. Media statements will be allowed after the conclusion of the third meeting, which starts at 10:00.

ZAGREB – The Restart Coalition’s program for the parliamentary elections will be presented by the president of the SDP and leader of the coalition Davor Bernardić, the president of the HSS Krešo Beljak, the president of the HSU Silvano Hrelja, the president of GLAS Anka Mrak Taritaš, the president of Snaga Goran Aleksić, and the president of the Central Council of the SDP Branko Grčić. The press conference presenting the program can also be followed on the official Facebook page and YouTube channel of the SDP, and upon prior request, a limited number of RTMP live video streams can be provided to interested parties (10:30, SDP Headquarters, Trg Drage Iblera 9).

ZAGREB – The Croatian People’s Party – Liberal Democrats (HNS) will present new leadership and program guidelines for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The guidelines will be presented by the new president of the HNS, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning Predrag Štromar and the Deputy President of the HNS and Member of Parliament Stjepan Čuraj. The conference will also be attended by newly elected vice-presidents of the party, the president of the Women’s Initiative of the HNS Karolina Juzbašić, and the mayor of Gornja Stubica Jasmin Krizmanić (14:00, The Westin Zagreb, Kršnjavoga 1).

SPLIT – A virtual celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Split, as a joint gathering cannot be held due to the epidemiological situation. The celebration can be followed at  https://youtu.be/U2bPrNLM6K8 from 12:00.

ZAGREB – The Workers’ Front, along with partners from Možemo, Zagreb is OURS, and the New Left, with whom they are running in the upcoming elections in a coalition of green and left parties, will hold a press conference on the occasion of the placement of flags for ‘March for Life’ after the flags of Zagreb Pride by the City of Zagreb. Representatives of the coalition will speak, including Katarina Peović, Tomislav Tomašević, Danijela Dolenec, Rada Borić, and David Bilić (10:30, in front of the west side of the Croatian National Theatre, Trg Republike Hrvatske 15).

MURSKO SREDIŠĆE – The Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Darko Horvat will meet in Mursko Središće with the Slovenian Minister for Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek. The two ministers will discuss the issues of business operations of companies in Croatia and Slovenia after the lockdown, matters related to Croatia’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, particularly concerning the work of the Competitiveness Council, and cooperation on the construction of a bridge and bypass in Mursko Središće intended for freight traffic. The Ministers of Economy of Croatia and Slovenia will meet at the bridge on the Mura River in Mursko Središće (16:00), and a working meeting, which will also include the mayor of Mursko Središće Dražen Srpak, will be held at the Office of the Mayor of the City of Mursko Središće (Trg bana Josipa Jelačića 10). After the meeting, statements for the media are planned (around 17:00).

JASTREBARSKO/LOKŠIN DOL – The tourist boards of ten counties will sign an agreement on cooperation in the development and implementation of projects that promote domestic and traditional cuisine and products "Taste of Croatian Traditions", which was initiated in collaboration with the tourist boards by the Varaždin company DMK Vall042 (11:00, Vinogradarska kuća Braje, Lokšin dol 1).
