The Croatian agency Human won the award for the best website according to six main criteria of the academy at yesterday’s international awards ceremony for the best internet achievements of 2019. Human took home the top prize for website creation in a competition that received over 13,000 entries from 70 countries around the world. Among the finalists in various categories were names like HBO, NASA, Spotify, Saturday Night Live, Google, and others. With a double victory, through the votes of the academy jury and the audience, Human demonstrated that a big name is not crucial for victory, but rather a creative idea and quality execution.

“Since we launched the new website, we have been receiving positive feedback, but receiving such a significant international recognition is always the icing on the cake. An additional confirmation that we did the right job is when we look at the competition and the resources they have, and in the end, the award goes to us commented Vanja Bertalan, CEO of the Human agency.

Due to extraordinary circumstances, this year’s awards ceremony was held online, and among the distinguished winners are Nike, Spotify, National Geographic, Washington Post, HBO, Condé Nast, as well as individuals recognized by the academy for their digital activities last year, including Tom Hanks, Jimmy Fallon, Celine Dion, Lil Nas X, Greta Thunberg, and many others. The Webby Awards is considered one of the most prestigious digital awards since its inception in 1996, and the importance and scale of the competition is underscored by the fact that it reaches 3.1 billion impressions through print, online, and broadcasting channels annually.
