The Ministry of Finance on Tuesday sold treasury bills worth 300 million kuna and 12 million euros at auction, slightly exceeding the plan and still at favorable interest rates. In anticipation of the maturity of 283 million kuna and 16 million euros worth of treasury bills, the Ministry offered for subscription 200 million kuna and 10 million euros of treasury bills with a maturity of one year.
Financial institutions submitted bids totaling 300 million kuna and 12 million euros, all of which were accepted by the Ministry. Thus, kuna treasury bills with a maturity of one year were issued worth 300 billion kuna, with an interest rate of 0.06 percent, the same as in previous auctions.
With the maturity of 283 million kuna of treasury bills, the balance of registered kuna treasury bills increases by 17 million, to 17.43 billion kuna. Treasury bills with a maturity of one year worth 12 million euros were also issued, with an interest rate of zero percent.
With the maturity of 16 million euros of treasury bills, the balance of registered euro treasury bills decreases by 4 million, to 102 million euros. The next auction has been announced by the Ministry of Finance for May 26.
