Did you not receive the full amount of support from HZZ? You will soon…

Entrepreneurs who have been approved for the payment of support for preserving jobs for April, and who feel deceived because they did not receive the funds they are entitled to, the Croatian Employment Service will pay the difference by the end of today or at the latest at the beginning of next week.

The problem arose because entrepreneurs expected to receive 4,000 kuna for each employee, as they requested, as it was communicated, but not everything went according to plan and agreement. Many of them received dramatically lower amounts of support for preserving jobs and wondered – is this it?!

According to some entrepreneurs, those who requested support for, for example, three employees, received funds only for two, while some among them instead of the initially offered 4,000 kuna, received only 3,250 kuna for each employee. There are not even any rules; some received one amount, others another, and it turns out that only a few are satisfied and that even fewer received exactly what was communicated would be paid out.

—

Let us remind you, the support is paid to employers’ accounts in the amount of 3,250 kuna for March and 4,000 kuna for April and May per employee, if requested, which they 'are obliged to pay to workers as regular wages'.

– We do not understand what this means now, will we receive the remaining funds by the end of the month, will we be left without that remainder, we hoped for one amount, we received another. We just started working after two months and honestly, the situation is not great, so literally every kuna counts – confided to Lider a beautician who wishes to remain anonymous.

The same story is confirmed by other entrepreneurs, it is rare for those who received exactly 4,000 kuna for each employee. What should they do, whom should they turn to, has there been a communication breakdown or is HZZ again operating according to a logic only they understand, they rightly ask.
On the pages of the Croatian Employment Service, it does state that the support for April and June will amount to UP TO 4,000 kuna, but it has mostly been communicated that the amounts for the remaining two months, April and May, will be higher than that for March.

To clarify whether there has been an oversight, mistake, or simply misunderstanding, which seems to have become a common practice when it comes to HZZ, we sent them an inquiry asking for clarification of this situation

– To all users who have shown a discrepancy in the allocated funds compared to those they are entitled to, the difference will be compensated as soon as possible, and we expect that most of the support will be paid today and at the beginning of next week – HZZ responded to Lider’s inquiry, citing that ‘matching with data from HZMO and the Tax Administration based on submitted evidence of salary payment for March’ is underway.

In response to Lider’s inquiry about whether the measures will be extended after May, they replied that they last for a maximum of three months, as has been communicated so far.
