ENNA&PPD Group in the Fight Against COVID-19: Donated Nearly Three Million Kuna to Hospitals, and That’s Not All

The lines of poet John Donne, 'No man is an island entirely of itself; every man is a part of the continent, a part of the main,' can equally apply to companies – none exists solely for itself; it is part of the community in which it operates, part of the continent, part of the world. If we have sometimes been prone to forget this, the coronavirus pandemic has cruelly reminded the world of this – that no one exists solely for themselves and that only collective struggle and mutual assistance yield results. One of the companies that has always been aware of this is ENNA&PPD Group. Just as it does in business, the Group strives to be a stable and reliable partner to the community in which it operates, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life, even more so at this moment as action needed to be taken quickly, immediately.

Great Assistance to Healthcare

Therefore, for eight Croatian hospitals, Prvo plinarsko društvo Vukovar (part of the Energia naturalis group) donated 2,900,000 kuna, which will be used for the procurement of necessary medical equipment. By helping hospitals, ENNA&PPD Group aims to alleviate the difficult situation faced by patients as well as healthcare workers. KBC Osijek received a donation of 800,000 kuna, KBC Sestre milosrdnice and OŽB Našice each received 500,000 kuna, OŽB Vukovar received 400,000 kuna, and OB Zadar, Varaždin, and Dubrovnik each received 200,000 kuna, while the Emergency Medical Service in Umag received 100,000 kuna.

– We believe that the donations will be used to help those affected by the coronavirus in the best way possible, and to ease the daily work of medical staff – stated the Group.

At the end of March, PPD donated seven ventilators to KBC Zagreb. Since there was no greater need for these devices, the Company’s Management decided to donate the funds intended for their procurement or other medical equipment in accordance with the expressed hospital needs.

The Importance of Unity

In early April, PPD donated twenty vehicles to the Civil Protection Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, intended for the implementation of anti-epidemic measures.

– We are realizing the idea of a more humane society within the activities of the Novo sutra Foundation, and in our companies, we pay special attention to teamwork, which becomes increasingly important in crises like this. At ENNA Group, we believe that together we can contribute to a quicker end to this crisis, which is a priority for all of us – stated the company.

To the Civil Protection Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, Prvo plinarsko društvo donated twenty delivery vehicles and vans that will be used for the implementation of anti-epidemic measures.

Delivery Vehicles to the Ministry of the Interior

The vehicles were forwarded by the Civil Protection Directorate, depending on the needs, to the most needy county centers.

– I believe that in this situation, all of us who can should act constructively. I hope that this donation will reach those who need it most and ease their daily tasks – stated the CEO of ENNA Group, Pavao Vujnovac.

– This donation provides solidarity assistance to all who participate in combating the epidemic. Only together can we reduce the spread of the new coronavirus and increase the safety of all citizens of the Republic of Croatia – stated Dr. sc. Damir Trut, Assistant Minister of the Interior, while receiving the keys to the donated vehicles.
