Another 27 million kuna for energy renovation of buildings in Osijek-Baranja County

In addition to the ongoing energy renovation works on the buildings of 19 primary and secondary schools in Osijek-Baranja County, six additional energy renovation projects and the use of renewable energy sources in public sector buildings will be implemented, with a total value exceeding 27 million kuna, it was emphasized on Tuesday at the meeting of County Prefect Ivan Anušić with the heads of Administrative Departments.

The press release states that the projects for the energy renovation of the Home for the Elderly and Infirm in Beli Manastir, the Health Station in Magadenovac, the Osijek 1 Gymnasium, the Našice General Hospital, the Čepinski Martinci Primary School, and the building of the Technical School and Natural Sciences Gymnasium “Ruđer Bošković” and the Medical School in Osijek will be realized with funds from the County and non-repayable funds.

The total value of these six projects is 27.9 million kuna, with the County co-financing works worth 11.8 million kuna, while 16.06 million kuna are non-repayable funds.

This is a continuation of the process that began at the end of last year when the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning announced a Call for submission of project proposals for energy renovation and the use of renewable energy sources in public sector buildings, aimed at reducing energy consumption by at least 50 percent in public sector buildings where social activities are carried out, as well as increasing the use of renewable energy sources.

Under this call, Osijek-Baranja County has been approved for 24 projects with a total value of 107.1 million kuna by August 6 of this year, of which the non-repayable funds from the EU and the state budget amount to 59.1 million kuna, while the County participates in these projects with a total of 47.9 million kuna of its own funds, the press release adds.
