Italian football clubs this summer spent 1.14 billion euros on player purchases, which is 25 percent more than last year, writes Daily Star.
Only on the ‘Island’ did they spend more. Clubs from the elite English football league spent 1.42 billion euros during the summer transfer window.

For example, just four years ago, clubs from the ‘boot’ spent 335 million euros, and a year later 608 million euros.
This summer, Juventus spent the most on the Apennines, 250 million euros. About 115 million euros was spent by the Turin ‘Old Lady’ on Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Cancelo cost around 40 million euros, just like Douglas Costa, and 35 million euros for Leonardo Bonucci.
Roma was second in spending. They invested 136 million euros in reinforcements by purchasing 13 players. They paid the most for Steven Nzonzi, who arrived from Sevilla for 26 million euros, and Javier Pastore, who came from PSG for 24.7 million euros. Roma also achieved the largest outgoing transfer by selling goalkeeper Alisson Becker to Liverpool for 62.5 million euros.
Milan spent 120 million euros, Inter 77 million euros, and Napoli 72 million euros.
