The closest living relative of Nikola Tesla, William Bill Terbo, grandson of Tesla’s older sister Angelina, passed away on August 14 at his home in New Jersey at the age of 89, reported Belgrade media today, citing sources close to the family, writes Cosmos.
William Bill Terbo was born on April 10, 1930, in Detroit, he was an inventor, and as Tanjug reports, today’s automotive transmissions are based on one of his inventions.
Nikola Tesla had a brother, Dane, and three sisters, Milka, Angelina, and the youngest, Marica, and Terbo was the grandson of Tesla’s older sister Angelina.
Angelina married Nikola Trbojević with whom she had five children, three sons and two daughters. All were college-educated, and four of them held the title of Doctor of Science. Angelina’s son, Nikola Trbojević, was Terbo’s father.
After graduation, from 1973 until retirement, he worked in Los Angeles in the field of aerospace and rocket industry.
With his wife Bojana, he was engaged in promoting the life and work of Nikola Tesla, writes Tanjug, reminding that Terbo was a frequent participant in international gatherings dedicated to his great-uncle.
