A survey across the European Union regarding daylight saving time attracted 4.6 million votes before it closed late on Thursday, the European Commission announced on Friday.
Millions of Europeans decided whether to keep or abolish the clock change forward during the months from March to October to adapt to the seasonal change and the movement of daylight.
At the request of the European Parliament, the European Commission launched a survey that began on July 4.
Results are not yet available to the public, but the Commission announced that results will be available in the ”coming weeks”.
Although the voting is not binding, the results will serve as a basis for deciding whether to change the existing law. In that case, any change will have to be approved by the European Parliament and the member states of the Union.
