The total number of employees in industry in June decreased by 0.1 percent compared to May, and by 1.1 percent compared to June 2017, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Data on employment trends in industry in June compared to May, classified by national classification of activities, show the highest increase in employment in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, by 1.9 percent, and in beverage production, by 1.6 percent.

At the same time, the employment index fell the most in the production of tobacco products, by 14.3 percent.
Year-on-year comparison shows the highest increase in employment in June compared to the same month last year in the production of tobacco products, by 22.1 percent, in metal production, by 6.4 percent, and in the production of other non-metallic mineral products, by 5.1 percent.
The largest decline in employment was recorded in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, by 13 percent.

Total labor productivity in industry from January to June 2018 compared to the same period in 2017 increased by 1.2 percent, according to DZS data.
