Most citizens know how to protect themselves from the sun, but few apply that knowledge, say dermatologists. They advise people: to undergo a preventive dermatological examination, to avoid the sun when it is most intense, and to regularly apply products with broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays while staying in the sun.
