In Croatia, 43,967 new passenger vehicles were sold in the first seven months, which is 21.2 percent more than in the same period last year, according to data from Promocija plus published on Wednesday.
In July alone, 5,738 vehicles were sold, representing a growth of 39.1 percent compared to the same month last year.

From January to the end of July, domestic buyers most frequently sought Volkswagen (VW) vehicles, with 6,540 sold, accounting for 14.8 percent of total sales. In second place is Renault with 4,369 vehicles sold and a share of 9.9 percent, while Opel ranks third, with 4,321 vehicles sold and a share of 9.8 percent.
Czech Škoda is in fourth place, with 3,899 units sold, and Suzuki in fifth, with 2,721.
The best-selling model since the beginning of the year is the Škoda Octavia, with sales of 2,262 units, followed by the Renault Clio with 2,201 and the VW Polo with 1,639.
The best-selling model in July was the VW Golf, with 290 finding their way to owners, followed by the VW Polo (285) and the Škoda Octavia (276).

In the first seven months, 24,775 gasoline vehicles were sold (56.3 percent share of total sales) and 18,246 diesel vehicles (41.5 percent). At the same time, only 22 electric vehicles were sold (0.1 percent share) and 505 hybrids (1.1 percent).
