The County Court in Zagreb has postponed the final decision on the legality of the strike at Croatia Airlines (CA) announced by the union of the Workers’ Organization of Croatia Airlines (ORCA), demanding the opening of negotiations for a new collective agreement.

At today’s four-hour hearing, the court heard witnesses, and the final decision will be made tomorrow.
On Tuesday, the court issued a temporary decision to ban the strike, citing a provision that irreparable damage would occur to the state-owned company.
From the ORCA union, which gathers pilots and cabin and technical staff of Croatia Airlines (CA), they state that in the event of a strike ban, they will seek justice at the Supreme Court.

The management of CA previously warned that the strike could cause losses of up to 800 thousand euros for each day of the strike. According to management data, the strike would affect nearly seven thousand passengers on the first announced day of the strike alone. They emphasize that they want to regulate their relations with social partners through constructive dialogue within the company, rather than through court disputes, regardless of their outcome. To protect the interests of the company and all employees, passengers, and the Croatian tourism product, they call on the ORCA union to return to collective negotiations and to bring their demands into realistic frameworks that will not jeopardize the financial stability and sustainability of the company’s future operations.
CA adds that they continue to operate planned flights to all domestic and international destinations, thus without any restrictions, and provides passengers with a comprehensive air transport service in line with their expectations.
