The State is Selling 10 Properties – the Former Mesić Residence, Hotel Iž in Zadar…

The Ministry of State Property has announced a public call for bids for the purchase of 10 properties owned by the state, among which is again the villa in Grškovićeva, in Zagreb’s Šalata, where the former president Stjepan Mesić resided.

The villa at Grškovićeva 13, from which Mesić was evicted in early 2017 by a government decision, has an area of 350 square meters, and the starting price is 5.28 million kuna. Interested buyers will be able to visit it on August 23 at 12 PM or by appointment, as stated in the public call published on the Ministry of State Property’s website.

The Ministry of State Property attempted to sell this villa earlier this year, with a starting price of 6.2 million kuna.

The state is also offering for sale a villa in Pantovčak, with an area of 675 square meters, and the starting price is 18.15 million kuna.

The sale of Hotel Iž in Zadar has also been announced, with a starting price of 6.6 million kuna. The property has an illegal occupant with a family, against whom a court proceeding is underway at the Municipal Court in Zadar for the eviction of apartment 118 in the Hotel Iž building, and the procedure has not been legally concluded, as stated in the public call.

It is also noted that the Republic of Croatia is not liable to the buyer for any restrictions on the use of the property, nor can the buyer make any other real or mandatory legal claims against the Republic of Croatia, nor claim damages on any basis, nor seek financial compensation for housing arrangements for the illegal occupant and their family.

Other properties for sale include building land in Zagreb (2,079 square meters), in the municipality of Motovun (812 square meters), in Lipik (2,355 square meters), in Mali Lošinj (381 square meters), in Punat on Krk (132 square meters), in the municipality of Vižinada (785 square meters), as well as a house and land in Karlovac.

The deadline for submitting bids is until September 11, 2018, at 10 AM. The best bidder will be considered the one who offers the highest price, and if the bidder whose offer is accepted withdraws, they lose the right to the deposit.

In the event of withdrawal by the first best bidder, the next highest bidder will be considered the best, provided they accept the highest offered price of the first bidder, as stated in the public call.

If two identical complete bids with the same amount of the offered contractual price are received, the bidders will be invited to submit a supplement to their offer in a sealed envelope within three days of receiving the notification, in order to make a decision on the most favorable bidder.

Late and incomplete bids will not be considered, it is noted.
