The company LNG Croatia has extended the deadline for closing the second round of binding capacity leasing until September 28, based on requests from interested terminal users for an extension of the bid submission deadline, as announced on its website.

The second round of the binding phase of the Open Season process for LNG capacity leasing was opened on June 22, 2018, and the deadline for bid submission was August 3.
Considering that it received requests from interested terminal users for an extension of the bid submission deadline, LNG Croatia, in coordination with Plinacro and FGSZ, has aligned a new schedule for the further implementation of the binding phase of terminal capacity leasing.
Taking into account the fact that potential capacity lessees are still negotiating with LNG suppliers about the possibilities of contracting its supply, which is crucial for finalizing the bids expected upon the closure of the second round of binding capacity leasing, the deadline for submitting binding bids is extended to September 28, 2018, the statement said.
The new timeline for the implementation of the binding capacity leasing, the so-called Open Season process with new deadlines for individual activities, will be delivered to all registered companies, it adds.

The company LNG Croatia is conducting the binding phase of the Open Season for leasing capacity at the terminal on the island of Krk, while a separate Open Season process is being conducted by Plinacro and FGSZ, i.e., the operators of the transport system in Croatia and Hungary, for contracting permanent capacity of the transport system.
Otherwise, after the non-binding phase of the Open Season, interest in leasing capacity at the floating LNG terminal was expressed by about 20 companies, and 12 submitted bids for leasing totaling more than the initially offered capacity of 2.6 billion cubic meters of gas, while in the first round of submitting binding bids, interest was more than modest.
The first round for submitting binding bids for leasing capacity at the future LNG terminal ended on April 8, and some unofficial information indicated that only one bid was received, reportedly only the bid from INA for just 100 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
The terminal’s capacity is expected to be 2.6 billion cubic meters per year, with at least 1.5 billion cubic meters needed from lessees for the investment to be somewhat profitable.

The company LNG Croatia recently repeated the tender for the procurement of a floating unit for reception, storage, and regasification (FSRU), for which interested parties can now submit bids until August 24 at 2 PM, and the repetition is explained by “formal reasons.”
