Slovenian tourism in June this year recorded more than 570 thousand visits, with 1.4 million overnight stays, of which 72 percent of overnight stays were made by foreign guests, according to data from the Slovenian Statistical Office.

This is a continuation of the growth trend in the tourism industry, as evidenced by the fact that last year in the then record June, Slovenia had 487 thousand tourist arrivals and nearly 1.22 million overnight stays, and there is a constant trend of increasing the number of foreign tourists compared to domestic ones.
In Croatia – 5 times more tourists
In comparison, Croatia recorded 2.7 million tourist arrivals and 13.5 million overnight stays in June.

Of the 433 thousand foreign tourists in June in Slovenia, the most came from Germany, accounting for 14 percent of all foreign overnight stays, followed by Austrians with 9 percent of overnight stays and Italians with 8 percent, then the British, Dutch, and Czechs.
29 percent of tourists head to the mountains
About 48 percent of all tourist overnight stays in June were in hotels, followed by camps, apartments, hostels, and private rooms.

Meanwhile, 29 percent of all overnight stays were recorded in the continental mountainous region of the country, 23 percent on the Slovenian coast, 19 percent in thermal centers, and 13 percent in the wider area of Ljubljana, according to statistical data published on Tuesday.
