Dalmatia was featured on Wednesday in the selection of the 16 most attractive coastlines in the world, from the Italian national park Cinque Terre to the Beagle Channel at the southern tip of Chile and Argentina, published on the website of the American television network CNN.
The coastline of Dalmatia is described by American CNN as one of the “most dramatic” landscapes in Europe.
“The Adriatic coast of Croatia, dotted with walled cities, pebble beaches, and well-preserved Roman ruins, is one of the most magical coastlines in Europe,” writes CNN, adding that “after the breakup of Yugoslavia, it overnight justifiably became a sensation.”

Alongside medieval fortified cities like Dubrovnik and Roman ruins such as Diocletian’s Palace in Split, there are 78 islands along the coast that can be explored by sailboats, yachts, or ferries, while inland there are natural attractions like the Plitvice Lakes waterfalls, CNN reminds us.
The selection by the American station included coastlines from six continents and three oceans, from Australia and Namibia, through Italy and Turkey to Hawaii and Alaska.
