The President Presented Investment Opportunities of the Republic of Croatia to More Than Two Hundred Foreign Directors

Successful business people from around the world, about two hundred of them, united in the exclusive American organization Chief Executive Organization (CEO), are staying in Croatia, having gathered on Tuesday in Šibenik where they were presented with investment opportunities in Croatia by President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović.

“I will not say that Croatia is just a small country, as a country is as big as it makes itself, and we have big dreams and are open for business. Croatia recently marked the fifth anniversary of its entry into the European Union, thereby guaranteeing the freedom of transport of goods and capital, production, and labor,” said President Grabar Kitarović, mentioning to the attendees the Three Seas Initiative, an informal political platform of initiatives from Eastern and Central European countries along the Baltic-Adriatic-Black Sea route.

Regarding energy, Croatia has the opportunity to become one of the strongest players in Central Europe, she continued.

“Croatia’s geographical position at the crossroads of Western and Southeastern Europe is extremely favorable for the transport of goods, and the legal framework for investors is constantly improving, allowing them to take advantage of benefits such as non-repayable financial resources and tax incentives,” emphasized Grabar Kitarović, among other things.

Encouraging entrepreneurship and investment opportunities, Croatia offers an efficient, multilingual, and innovative platform for work, which has been recognized by over 15 thousand foreign companies operating here, she stated.

“Tourism is one of the largest branches of the Croatian economy, and the Croatian market with a population of over four million people is relatively small in global terms, but Croatian companies and consumers have already proven capable of recognizing new technologies, making Croatia an ideal test market in this regard,” she said, presenting investment options in the automotive, pharmaceutical, food, and textile industries.

She particularly referred to Rimac Automobili and Croatia’s strategic geo-position in Europe, which enables fast transport of goods to the world by land and sea.

“I invite you to explore the advantages of Croatia, and Croatian institutions such as the Development Agency and my office are always at your disposal. Take home the most beautiful memories and next time return not only as guests but also as investors and business partners,” the Croatian president told the gathered entrepreneurs.

The American ambassador to Croatia, Robert Kohorst, stated that the event was sponsored by the American organization CEO and added that about 200 participants would become acquainted with the investment opportunities that Croatia offers.

I can only tell them positive things, he added.

The mayor of Šibenik, Željko Burić, said that such gatherings are an opportunity to represent Šibenik in both tourism and business terms.

“I would not say that there are direct business contacts, but a series of interesting investments are being prepared in Šibenik, and it is certain that prominent business people from powerful countries are following this and are aware of it,” said Burić.

The CEO organization will have a stop in Croatia on its cruise from Italy to Turkey, along with Šibenik, in Dubrovnik.
