Commenting on the announced continuation of tax reform, the Deputy President of HNS and Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning Predrag Štromar stated that his party will advocate for higher salaries for citizens so they can live better and of higher quality.

“For HNS, the most important thing is to reduce labor costs in terms of salary costs so that salaries can be higher. We must reduce costs for employers so they can offer higher salaries. Currently, this is the most important thing,” commented Štromar at a press briefing in his ministry.
“The higher the salary increase, the better. We have salary growth, but we need even greater salary growth,” emphasized Štromar, adding that HNS will advocate for an increase in citizens’ income so they can live better and of higher quality.
The continuation of tax reform is expected to be presented to coalition partners on Wednesday by Finance Minister Zdravko Marić, who previously announced that there will be further tax relief for employers and citizens, as well as consideration of a VAT reduction.
Štromar says that discussions are ongoing regarding the reduction of VAT on meat, eggs, fruits, and vegetables, as well as a possible reduction in property transfer tax.

“We are discussing with coalition partners, and we should have a final meeting tomorrow, after which we will be able to comment,” he said.
