Petrokemija in the First Six Months Reports a Loss of 176 Million Kuna

Petrokemija’s revenues in the first six months of this year amounted to 923 million kuna, while expenses totaled 1.099 billion kuna, according to the report adopted by the Supervisory Board of Petrokemija yesterday. The Supervisory Board emphasizes that the greatest burden on Petrokemija comes from the rising prices of natural gas and carbon dioxide, which account for 70% of the reported loss during the reporting period.

Petrokemija notes that the sale of mineral fertilizers was achieved at a level of 519 thousand tons and that investments amounting to 38.7 million kuna have been secured. Although there was a decrease in the quantity of mineral fertilizers sold compared to the same period last year, a positive trend is visible in the revenue structure, where sales in the domestic market recorded an increase of 6.4% compared to the same reporting period last year.

After a longer preparation period in the summer of 2018, an extensive two-year overhaul of the Petrokemija d.d. plant is being carried out to ensure the technical and technological condition of the plant for the upcoming period, and partially implement investments in modernization and increased energy efficiency.

Activities are underway at Petrokemija to define the future business model of the company, and the recapitalization should create conditions for a balanced financing model for the modernization of the plant and investments in greater efficiency of all processes in the Company.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Supervisory Board, Marijan Kuprešak submitted his resignation from the membership in the Supervisory Board of Petrokemija d.d. effective August 1, 2018.
