Today in Croatia – Signing Contracts Worth 100 Million Kuna

We announce the most important events in Croatia for Friday, July 27:

DIVULJE – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Damir Krstičević will visit the Operational Fire Command in Divulje where presentations on the 2018 fire season and media statements are planned. Also visiting will be the Director of the State Administration for Protection and Rescue Dragan Lozančić, the Chief Fire Commander of the Operational Fire Command (OVZ) in Divulje Slavko Tucaković, and the Commander of the Command Operational Command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Commander of the military forces of OVZ in Divulje Brigadier General Krešo Tuška (4:45 PM, Operational Fire Command in Divulje).

PULA – Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds Gabrijela Žalac will attend the ceremonial signing of contracts totaling 100 million kuna. These are projects for the restoration of natural heritage, procurement of buses, and construction of a hospice, of which 49 million kuna are non-repayable funds from EU funds. Alongside Minister Žalac, the project will be discussed by the Prefect of Istria County Valter Flego, the Mayor of Pula Boris Miletić, and the Director of the Central Agency for Financing and Contracting of Programs and Projects of the European Union Tomislav Petric (11:30 AM, Municipal Palace, Trg Forum 1).

ZAGREB – The Club of Representatives of the Most Independent Lists will hold a press conference where representatives Robert Podolnjak and Božo Petrov will speak about the introduction of new voting methods in the elections for the European Parliament, the Croatian Parliament, the President of the Republic, and for local elections (10:30 AM, Croatian Parliament, Ivana Kukuljevića Hall, Trg sv. Marka 6).

ZAGREB – The volume of construction works in May of this year was 5.8 percent higher than in the same month last year, according to preliminary data on construction work indices published by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. According to the preliminary seasonally and calendar-adjusted data from the CBS, the index of the volume of construction works in May is 1.7 percent higher compared to the previous month. Year-on-year, in May this year compared to May last year, the volume of works performed on buildings increased by 14 percent, while on other constructions it decreased by 5 percent.
