Yoko Ono Sends a Message of Peace with the Album ‘Warzone’

‘Warzone’ will be the title of the new album Yoko Ono, which she is releasing at the age of 85, as she believes her lifelong message of peace is urgently needed in 2018.

The album will be released on October 19 and will feature songs created from 1970, including the legendary song “Imagine,” her pacifist anthem written with her late husband John Lennon.

Billboard reports that Yoko will release one single from the new album every Tuesday on her website Imagine Peace ahead of the album’s release.

“The world is in chaos. Everyone is having a really hard time,” she said.

In a statement from her representatives, it is added: “It is not too late for the world to change. We need Yoko now more than ever.”

The producer of the album, which contains 13 songs, is her son Sean Ono Lennon.

Yoko Ono stated that she is already working on a second album.

Ono, who grew up in Tokyo and New York, became a rising star in avant-garde music when she met Lennon and became his second wife. The couple used the publicity to invite journalists to their honeymoon in Amsterdam, where they were found lying in bed in a hotel room discussing peace in the world. This was their protest against the Vietnam War.

Yoko Ono has remained a peace activist and has sought to preserve Lennon’s legacy after he was murdered in front of their apartment in New York in 1980.
